The Thracian tomb in "Ostrusha" mound dates from IV century BC. It is located in the area called "Valley of the Thracian Kings" south of the town of Shipka. The ancient ritual complex was discovered in 1993 after archaeological studies.
The necropolis is 7 m wide and 14 meters long and is built of large, well-processed granite blocks, connected with iron clamps. The complex consists of six rooms with a different form: the circular chamber, square chamber, two rectangular rooms and a central chamber - a sarcophagus. In the southwestern square chamber were found remains of an ritually buried horse.
The ceiling of the tomb is impressive with its design - a combination of relief and fine decoration - different portraits, colorful figures and floral ornaments. The only preserved image is of the face of a beautiful woman. The central chamber is carved out of a single granite block weighing about 60 tons.
