Kipilovo Kale Fortress is located on Mount Hissarluka - south of village of Kipilovo. Today around the fortress was overgrown a beech forest, which makes its detection more difficult for the visitors.
It is believed that the fortress was built in the late VI century by the Byzantines and existed until the end of the Second Bulgarian State. There are preserved lots of the fortress walls which were 2.5 meters thick and, in places, 8-10 meters height. Well preserved are also 3 of the entrances of the fortress. At the eastern part of the site there was a draw-well, which supplied the fort with fresh water.
