Rock phenomenon "The Elephant" is located about 4 km southeast of town of Devin, immediately after the fork on the road Devin-Smolyan, before the former village of Nastan (now - a quarter of Devin). It is situated on the right side of the road (when you are coming from Devin), on the left bank of the river Vacha, shortly before it flows into Shirokolushka river.
It is an interesting stone formation which has a shape of an elephant. It has formed over millennia by natural forces - winds, rains, sun, earthquakes, etc.. The rock has shapes and forms that reminiscent an Elephant - its body, head, legs and trunk.
According to scientists, "Slona" was formed either as a result of the demolition of an ancient cave by the river, or as a result of an earthquake.
