Historical Museum of Velingrad is located in the district of Kamenica. It was established in 1951 and is а successor of various school and other museum collections. Shortly after its establishment it was transformed into "Museum Vela Peeva", but in 1991 its status was restored to Town History Museum.
The Historical Museum of Velingrad is located in a building from 1982, constructed special for this purpose. There are large and extensive halls for the expositions. The museum holds more than 17,000 objects - archaeological findings, artifacts, icons, books, personal items and records of celebrities, photos and documents. There are two exhibitions - "In memory of Vela Peeva" and "Ethnographic" which tracks the traditional lifestyle and culture of the population of Chepino region.
