Monument Panayot Volov, Strelcha

Panayot Volov is an important figure from the Bulgarian history. He is among the organizers and leaders of Giurgiu Revolutionary Committee and participant in the April uprising 1876. He was one of the leaders who prepared and rose in rebellion the population of Srednogorie region, including Strelcha. Unfortunately, the uprising was brutally suppressed by the Turks, and Strelcha falls among the first.

The monument of Panayot Volov in Strelcha was built in honor of the revolutionary and is located at the town square, named after Panayot Volov too.
