The Natural phenomenon Ritlite is located in Iskar Gorge, north of the village Lyutibrod. These are limestone rock formations that are over 120 million years old. It is suggested the rocks have been formed when the region was seabed. Later, when the Alpine-Himalayan mountain chain were formed the rock formation "Ritlite" in its present form was appeared.
The rock formations look like stone walls along the river Iskar and in some places the rocks reaches 80 meters in high. The thickness varies from 3 to 7 meters and the length is between 200 and 400 meters. Most attractive are four parallel vertical rock walls on the left bank of the river, while those on the right side are much smaller and less distinct.
"Ritlite" stone formations were declared a natural landmark in 1938. Not far away of them is situated the Cherepishki monastery.
