Each year in end of May, in the village of Cherni Vit is held a reproduction of events from 1876. Then the local resident Neyo Krachunov helped Benkovski and his detachment, hiding them in a cave in order to rescue them from the Turks. Neyo was sacrificed his lives and thrown into the river Vit but did not betrayed the rebels.
In his honor, in the locality where the events happened, was built a monument, and each year at the end of May is held an event (called a "living picture") where amateur actors recreate scenes from the events.
