Arbanasi Monastery "St. Nicola" is the larger of the two monasteries in village of Arbanassi. It is situated in the southwest part of the village, about half a kilometer from other monastery - Nunnery "The Holy Virgin".
Monastery of St. Nicholas was founded during the second Bulgarian kingdom but after the fall of Bulgaria under Ottoman rule was destroyed by the Turks. It was restored in 1680. Then was built the current church and the chapel of St. Elias. Here the visitors can see many interesting icons from XVIII century - the work of masters from Tryavna Art School. Among them are "St. Nicholas with scenes zhitilni", "Ognenoto Vazhozhdenie na St. Elijah", "Christ Vsedarzhatel", "Bogoroditsa patevodielka" and others.
Today Arbanasi Monastery "St. Nicolas" is acting.
